OUR LADY OF LOURDES FEAST DAY

PERSONAL RECOLLECTION OF LOURDES.

When I think of Lourdes, my mind goes back to my one and only visit there when I was 7 with my family.  We had had a marvelous time visiting the shrine, being in the procession at night with all the candles, seeing the sick people wanting to be cured and so much more.

Then a lesson learned for life for this small young child: Mum had bought me a beautiful pair of black paten shoes which had a red line on the toe area. They were beautiful shoes and I was so happy to wear them.
Sadly however, when it came to packing up, I left them under the bed.  We had reached the lobby of the hotel when I remembered,  We returned to the room quickly- alas my beautiful black paten shoes were gone.

Even all these years later, I still think of those shoes when I think of Lourdes. My only hope was that the person who found the shoes gave them to someone who appreciated them.

TODAY'S FEAST

I was looking for a photo for today's Feast- Our Lady of Lourdes.  Instead I found a number of videos.

I watched a number of them but I found this  video to sum up the feast day and its benefit  for our lives far better than one of my posts on the topic.
