45. Can the mystery of the
Most Holy Trinity be known by the light of human reason alone? (CCC 237)
God has lefts some traces of
the trinitarian being in creation and in the Old Testament but his inmost being
as the Holy Trinity is a mystery which is inaccessible to reason alone or even
to Israel’s faith before the Incarnation of the Son of God and the sending of
the Holy Spirit. The mystery was
revealed by Jesus Christ and it is the source of all the other mysteries.
What does this mean for me?
1.
By God’s love I am able to be in
relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit through faith.
2.
I can praise God that the mystery of the
Trinity was revealed by Jesus.
Questions to consider:
1.
Where are the traces of the Trinitarian
being in creation?
2.
Where are the traces of the Trinitarian
being in the Old Testament?
3.
What does the sending of the Holy Spirit
mean to me in my life?
4.
Why is the Trinity the source of all the
other mysteries?
