Planting the seed and vocations expo at WYD

 

At WYD in Sydney (and at other WYD's) there are plenty of different activities for pilgrims to attend apart from the main events. One of these activities in Sydney WYD in 2008 was the vocations expo.

 

 It was a wonderful display from so many different types of vocations, particularly priesthood and religious life. It was a great opportunity for the religious orders to 'showcase their wares', whilst for the pilgrims, it was a fantastic opportunity to 'come and see' in freedom from pressure or inhibitions. It was also an uplifting experience to experience the richness of the Church- different charisms and ways of expressing the same message of proclaiming Christ to the world.

 

WYD is also a mini experience of this also. There are many pilgrims but one body in Christ- many vocations but all to the same Lord. Everyone present has the opportunity to be the hand or voice of Christ to another pilgrim in both the exhilarating moments and the challenging ones. Every pilgrim has the chance to plant to seed and build up the kingdom for Christ.
