No 100 In what way is the spiritual motherhood of Mary universal? (501- 507, 511)

WHAT DOES THE COMPENDIUM SAY?

Compendium states: 

Mary had only one Son, Jesus, but in him her spiritual motherhood extends to all whom he came to save.  Obediently standing at his side of the new Adam.  Jesus Christ, the Virgin is the new Eve, the true mother of all the living who with a Mother’s love cooperates in their birth and formation in the order of grace. Virgin and Mother Mary is the figure of the Church, the most perfect realisation.

PERSONAL RESPONSE

What does this mean for me?

• I can thank God constantly for allowing Mary to be my spiritual mother.
• I can be, through the grace of God, a spiritual mother to those searching for Jesus. 
• I can pray and ask Mary to assist all mothers, including those who have no children but mother many people.
• I can pray to Mary to give my yes to God in all my undertakings in my life.

Questions to consider.

1.      What impact does Mary being my spiritual mother mean to me?

2.      How would I explain the spiritual motherhood of Mary so that it would have an impact on the life of the other person to whom the on explaining them?

3.      What steps can I take to embrace the spiritual Motherhood of Mary for my life?

4.       What benefit does it have to me knowing that Mary cooperated with the divine will of salvation?

5.      When I think of Mary’s spiritual Motherhood, does it inspire me to say yes to God and allow Him to govern it.? 

6.      How can I incorporate praying to Mary (e.g. saying the rosary,lighting a candle) into my life each day?
