DAILY GOSPEL LIGHT ADVENT JOURNEY
Daily Gospel Light Advent Journey Series. |
Monday of the Third Week of
Advent: Authority and Trust (Matthew 21:23-27)
“By What Authority?” (Matthew 21:23-27)
In today’s Gospel, the chief priests and elders question Jesus, asking, “By what authority are you doing these things?” Jesus, in turn, challenges them with a question about John the Baptist, exposing their unwillingness to seek truth with open hearts.
Advent
reminds us to trust in Jesus’ authority, even when His ways challenge our
understanding or expectations. Instead of resisting or questioning His power,
we are invited to respond with faith and humility, allowing His word to guide
our preparation for His coming.
Reflection:
Am I open to recognizing and trusting Jesus’ authority in my life? How can I
let go of my resistance and allow Him to guide me more fully this Advent?
Prayer:
Jesus, I trust in Your authority and power. Open my heart to receive Your truth
with humility and faith, and guide me as I prepare to welcome You this Advent
season.
