Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week.

SINGABLE SUNDAY PSALMS

LENT AND HOLY WEEK.

Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week Year A  is  now published.  There was a minor glitch which became a major one and so the date of published was by need pushed back a couple of days.

I am so excited.

Perhaps you are saying  what is Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week?
Let me explain:

Introducing Singable Sunday Psalms for Lent and Holy Week Year A.

Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week Year A: www.talkingmusic.online

Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week Year A.

I have composed the music to 36 Psalms (Responsorial Psalms), sung and accompanied herself on Piano (Lent) and Organ (Holy Week).  CD 1 and CD 3 have recited verses for people who prefer to engage with both spoken and sung mediums.  CD 2 and CD 4 have both Sung Responses and sung Verses.

I have not just composed and music to any 36 Psalms. No, I have used the Responsorial Psalm texts for each of the Sundays in Lent and of course, Ash Wednesday. for the Lenten Psalms and for Holy Week, I have used the Responsorial Psalms used for the Holy Week Ceremonies- ie Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday.
I have composed 2 settings for each of the Psalms -making up the 36 settings.

There are accompanying eBooks or hard copies for books 1-4. The accompaniments to the Psalms are deliberately simple to suit both partially trained and trained musicians for Piano, Organ and Guitar.  These books are not only music books. They are a valuable resource with discussion on themes of the week, theological, liturgical and musical considerations.

So how might I benefit from Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week?

  • Congregations to sing as part of the Liturgy of the Word. (Responsorial Psalms) and/or for parish groups who may wish to bring Sunday Mass into their meetings/study group/ gatherings.

  •  People at home, in the car, on the way to work or falling asleep with peace.

  •  Everyone who wishes to meditate, reflect and remain calm and peaceful during Lent and Holy Week or to introduce the Psalms to other people.

  •  Ideal at any time of the year for spiritual nourishment and makes a unique present. It could be a beautiful gift instead of an Easter Egg and you could give it at the beginning of Lent. It could then be a healthy gift for the health conscious.

Lent has started. Have you considered your spiritual needs and how you wish to grow during Lent.

I have to say with all the composing, recording and and preparation to launch Singable Sunday Psalms -actually 250 hours of work to complete,  I have not yet focused on my goals for Lent.  However, during the composing process, I have to say that I really got in touch with the psalm texts in a different and deeper way.  The beauty of the 150 Psalms is there is that they reflect most emotions that we feel. There are Psalms that lift us up when we are down, having a bad day, Psalms that provide even more joy when we are in good spirits and psalms that can sustain us in difficult times and give us comfort.

Personally I think the Psalms often get overlooked as a source of meditation and sadly, they are often proclaimed not very well by lectors at Mass.

I recommend the Psalms to you this Lent and Holy Week.

You may find them more accessible through music.

Why not go to my other website and order your copy of  either digital or physical CD's and/or if you wish to play/sing them at your parish, purchase the appropriate books. The books are available as either pdf/epub  digital download or you can order a hard copy.(domestic only -Australia only)   The cost of postage to overseas is enormous so my international clients will be able to enjoy Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week through a digital copy and still be financially in front if you have the books printed and bound.

Please remember that Singable Sunday Psalms Lent and Holy Week is copyright.  Please do not breach copyright in all formats of this work as it denies the author/composer of their ability to earn an income from their skills. I am sure you can appreciate it this matter.
